Biography

Welcome to my profile! I’m a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, working under the guidance of Dr. Pawan Goyal on Sanskrit Computational Linguistics. My particular interest lies in speech — how a language as old and structurally intricate as Sanskrit can be taught to machines that listen, not just read, rather than treating it purely as text on a page. That interest took shape during a research stint at C-DAC Bengaluru, where I worked closely with Sanskrit speech data for the first time, and it’s stayed with me since — it’s what led me here to pursue it more deeply.

Before starting my PhD, I spent a couple of years working as a software and AI engineer across a few different settings — at Klystron Global, Maximl, MACOM Evolv, and briefly abroad at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico. Across these roles, I got to build and deploy real production AI systems rather than just prototypes, which gave me a good sense of what it actually takes to take an idea from a working demo to something people rely on.

Outside research, I like building things that solve real problems I’ve personally run into — I’ve made a couple of applications along these lines, one around hazard visualization and another around tournament management. I also produce trap and hip-hop beats in FL Studio in my spare time.
